Hereby we would like to share two announcements.

Announcement 1:
Call for Applications: Law and Political Economy Summer Academy at the University of Glasgow, in partnership with Erasmus University Rotterdam, on 19-21 June 2024. Details available at and CfA_LPE in Europe Summer Academy_2024

Announcement 2:
The Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Van Vollenhoven Institute for Law and Society would like to invite you to join the reading group on Foluke Adebisi’s book: Decolonisation and Legal Knowledge (2023). The book is open access and provides an examination of the meanings of decolonisation and explores how this examination can inform teaching, researching, and practising of law. It explores the ways in which the foundations of law are entangled in colonial thought and in its [re]production of ideas of commodification of bodies and space-time.

The Van Vollenhoven Institute (VVI) is based in Leiden Law School and seeks to develop and disseminate socio-legal knowledge and theory regarding the interaction between law, governance and society. More specifically, the Institute studies the emergence, functioning, and evolution of legal institutions.
